I enjoyed my stay, and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious 10-course meal (they even made a vegetarian version for us, which is not something to take for granted in Japan). The breakfast was fantastic as well. The three private baths were delightful (very convenient for couples and tattoo lovers), and we did not have difficulty with getting to try them all. If I remember correctly there aren’t that many buses running between Shima Onsen and the train station, so plan accordingly. The service was excellent as well. Didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area due to just staying one night, so would consider a longer stay the next time.
