My friend and I visited Kashiwaya Ryokan during the cherry blossom season in March of 2019. We purchased the Kame room with the direct round trip package from Tokyo. The bus was very convenient and comfortable. Even though we arrived an hour early, the staff greeted us with a smile on their faces and said they could accommodate our bags until our check-in. They let us use their bikes to explore the scenic mountainous landscape. From the themed hot baths in the Ryokan to the lovely Japanese-style meals and accommodation, the experience was amazing and it helped us escape our daily lives of stress and fatigue. Unfortunately, we were there for just one night because of our short trip but we loved it so much that we are stopping by for 2 nights during our trip in 3 weeks. I have 2 more friends joining me to the onsen this time because of how beautiful the whole experience is. I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
It is an experience worth spending time and money on. I would recommend this to anyone who is craving a relaxing and stress-free time away from the hustle and bustle in life up in the mountains.
