Shima Onsen was a true gem in Genma Prefecture. In addition to the many hiking spots, encounters with mountain wildlife, waterfalls and very delicious mountain herb ramen, the main stay at the Kashiwaya Ryokan was the kind of experience any first timer or veteran will enjoy to the fullest. The dinner course, which I recommend to include in your booking, was also very delicious.
Hope to visit again sometime in the future.

While hiking around here, we can encounter wild animals such as deer, monkey, raccoon dog and Japanese serow etc.
We use a lot of seasonal ingredients for the dinner especially vegetables.
We would like you to visit here in another season.
