I had the pleasure of guiding a family from Singapore on a walking tour around Shima Onsen.
Our guided tours are usually on foot or by bicycle, but this time, the family requested to visit destinations like Okushima Lake and Hinatami Yakushi Temple.
To accommodate their wishes, we arranged a private taxi and toured Shima Onsen together.
Although they mentioned visiting Mt. Takao the day before and feeling a bit disappointed as the autumn leaves hadn’t fully turned, they were delighted to find Shima Onsen’s foliage beautifully changing colors.
They took plenty of photos with the vibrant leaves and the stunning Shima Blue waters of Okushimako as the backdrop, thoroughly enjoying the experience.
In the hot spring town, they also had fun shopping, stopping by places like Fuugetsu-do for traditional Japanese sweets and Matsubaya for pickles.
I hope they’ll visit again during their next trip to Japan!
