On a sunny morning in September, I took a walk around Shima Onsen with guests visiting from Australia.
During their stay in Japan, they spent time in big cities like Tokyo and Kyoto, so they were very impressed by the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of Shima Onsen, which is so different from the bustling cities.
During the walk, they met a local woman and were able to receive a small dolls she had made.
They also shared a wonderful comment: “Learning about the town was hugely valuable, there’s so many things hidden in plain sight that we never would have discovered otherwise. ”
