Visitors to Japan that wish to experience real authentic Japanese ‘Omotenashi’ in a beautiful, unspoilt part of the country should definitely include a visit to Shima Onsen. The location is within easy reach from Tokyo by train or car and is probably one of the best hot spring resorts I have ever visited during my many trips to Japan. The far-reaching views are spectacular and the hospitality provided by all the staff at the Kashiwaya Ryokan will leave you with unforgettable memories.
