We had the pleasure of cycling around Shima Onsen with a lovely family visiting from Seattle, USA.
In the hot spring town, we enjoyed tasting the hot spring water, shopping for local goods, learning about the history of Shima Onsen, and having snacks by the river.
We took a leisurely bike ride upstream along the Shima River, stopping at Koizumi Falls, Oizumi Falls, and Oku-Shima Lake, where the beautiful surface of the lake glowed with the famous Shima Blue color.
The weather was perfect—clear skies and comfortable temperatures made it an ideal day for cycling.
