I had the pleasure of exploring Shima Onsen with a guest visiting solo from Malaysia, just as the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
After spending a few days working in Tokyo, she came to Shima Onsen for some well-earned relaxation—and it really showed.
She took many beautiful photos of the sakura in full bloom and the stunning “Shima Blue” river scenery.
Of course, we talked a lot about the history and charm of Shima Onsen, but I also really enjoyed learning about Malaysia and her job.
It was a truly enriching and joyful time for me as well.
I hope our paths cross again someday!
